Eydor passed through four ages, from the Storm Age to the latest Roaring Age.

The Storm Age

First Age (also the Wordless Age).

A permanent storm of raw magic roamed the world and was the source of Brilliance Magic, a kind of magic that touched everything. From the Storm came the Aeons. One of them joined with early species to make the Ogre Maguls, who threw down the ruling Leviathans and took their place. The Maguls ruled as tyrants over all sentient species by abusing Brilliance Magic.

The Voice Age

Second Age.

The enslaved Aelves secretly learned Brilliance Magic, united the other species, and overthrew their masters, the Ogre Maguls, removing them from the world. The Aelves then ruled as the self-claimed guardians of the balance, but in time became tyrants themselves. The Keeper taught humans Brilliance Magic, sharing the knowledge as no one had before, and when the Aelves and their allies wiped out all Brilliance in the Cleansing, he found a new source and destroyed everything but humans to become master of the world.

The Age of Echoes

Third Age.

When the Keeper finally left, the Voice went quiet and the order he had held together broke apart. Kingdoms split, much knowledge and power was lost, and the world was left with only echoes of what it had been.

The Roaring Age

Fourth Age (the present).

In this age, the broken pieces of the world are coming back together. Trade and learning are growing again, powers are reaching out to each other, and what the Age of Echoes lost is slowly being found.
